I got a quick hop in the other day. The schedule at the school got bounced around a bit so it meant the last slot of the day was freed up for an opportunist airport bum. Knowing that I hadn't been flying for couple of weeks, the owner asked if I wanted to take it for quick flight. I hesitated for a bit but then I remembered the one of the more important lessons of the last 2 expensive years of training - fly as regularly as you can, it's the only way to stay competent!
There was plenty of avgas in the tank but there was only an hour left before the end of VFR. I couldn't go anywhere interesting so I decided to run through the busier part of a trip - arrival back at the 'field. I went out to Enfield outside the zone and climbed up to a typical altitude. From there, I turned around and practiced an arrival back a Weston.
It was all fairly uneventful but it was good to be in the air again.
